ARD 406 Creative Futures 1 / 30.01.2020

After the first meeting introducing the ARD 406 module, my reflections on the presented teaching program are as follows:1. The aim of the ARD 406 Creative futures module is to learn how to navigate the world of business by a young artist.2. This module should indicate simple solutions on how to sell yourself, your product / service to a future employer or client. The module should teach how to create a project, and constructive critique of own and team work.3. Using practical exercises, students should learn or create the best and easiest way of communication in presenting their ideas and...

Malaga is a place on earth that I come back to from time to time. There is everything I need to catch the wind in my sails. There is wonderful sun, palm trees, great food, wine, happy people, and of course the sea. Here Pablo Picasso was born. The whole city, every corner is steeped in art and music. During my last trip, I was fascinated by Andalusian sacred art. Today Ciriaco and Paula Holy Martyrs Parish in the heart of Malaga. ...

The goal of this assignment was to visualise a familiar object using elements of form through the process of documentation. My object was a ring. (click here for the full post about this stage https://beataskorek.art/level-4/ard-435-mark-making-1/) after that we went into research and did a mind map about our object. https://beataskorek.art/level-4/visualising-research/ after we continued into learning about Gestalt techniques and were asked to create a simplified "drawings" of our chosen object https://beataskorek.art/level-4/gestalt-keynote/ this was followed by series of workshops where we photographed the objects etc, the final work consisted of us finding out a way to show the object without showing...

ARD 435 Visual Comunication, Level 4 / 19.12.2019

We had to pick an object that can fit into a 5cm box. I have chosen a ring. Ring that symbolises emotions, feeling, power and so many more things, Through the research I discovered that the ring can be a symbol of power, gratitude, accomplishment, being part of a bigger organisation, or love. Not only fimls, books and magazines tell us that, but also history and art history. But how do I show a ring without showing a ring? I started with photographing the object. just clean aesthetic commercial photographs of a simple ring. But that wanst it. I...

Joyce Tenneson (born in Weston, Massachusetts on May 29, 1945) is an American fine art photographer known for her distinctive style of photography, which often involves nude or semi-nude women. I find Joyce work fascinating, the way she shows beauty of humans and the light we have within. Her portrait work shows how she looks at humans, and how much respect and admiration she holds for women. This is a beautiful example that art can still show and capture the beauty of human body and soul. You can see more of her works in one of many books...

source: Andy Warhol, Nowy Jork, 1980, Robin Platzer / IMAGES/Getty Images Most of the things manufactured by Andy Warhol revolved around the concept of American culture. He painted money, food, important personalities and everyday objects, everything that according to him represented the cultural values of the United States. For example, Coca-Cola was identified with democratic equality: "The richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can watch TV and see Coca-Cola and you know the president drinks Cola, Liz Taylor drinks Cola and think you can drink Coke. " ...

Searching for the simplest form of expression led me to Japanese shadow theatre. Shadow Play is an ancient form of story telling and entertainment that uses flat articulated cut-out characters that are held between a light source and a translucent screen or grid. Cut out doll shapes sometimes have a translucent color or other details. Different effects can be achieved by moving both the doll and the light source. However, for the project, I decided to make simple dolls cut out of paper. However, my dolls will be made of pages from books. It will be a combination of symbolism (feelings and emotions)...

This was a first photo shoot for the pop-art series. It was a very exciting event for all participants. I had to prepare the props, costumes and over-all styling. I arranged a makeup artist, and that was a lot of fun to everyone. Everything had to be shiny, it had to be colorful. And it's supposed look like plastic. Many thanks to a professional make-up artist - Ewa Brzozowski, for my models - Karolina Skorek and Kieran A M Brooker ...

Cindy Sherman (American, b. 1954) is widely recognized as one of the most important and influential artists in contemporary art. Throughout her career, she has presented a sustained, eloquent, and provocative exploration of the construction of contemporary identity and the nature of representation, drawn from the unlimited supply of images from movies, TV, magazines, the Internet, and art history. Working as her own model for more than 30 years, Sherman has captured herself in a range of guises and personas which are at turns amusing and disturbing, distasteful and affecting. To create her photographs, she assumes multiple roles of photographer,...
