As part of the ARD 416 we were asked to create a poster for the music video. My video was to the Jethro Tull song called "Songs from the Woods" I used the key that was featured in the video, and started playing with the composition of the image and the poster. The first idea was to use a close up of the tree trunk and the key in it, but as much as I like the visual site of it, it feels like a book cover for me. so I decided to go with the photo of a...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TqGxL0tPmU&feature=emb_logoWorkshop with Karolina gave me an extension of basic artistic knowledge (e.g. creating image composition) and technical knowledge (work in a studio with light taking into account the laws of physics and the use of light as a means of expression). These classes gave me a broad knowledge of the ingredients that are involved in planning sessions, mood boards, symbols and why they are important when planning sessions, as well as some ideas on how to increase your creativity. Karolina takes on a journey from concept through making a portrait including lighting techniques, as well as tips for Lightroom and Photoshop. My...
The final song selection for my project is "Songs from the Wood" by Jethro Tull. The song is also the title song of the album from 1977. The album full of references to folk culture and fantasy was a significant departure from the previous hard rock sound, which, however, was still palpable. My choice is a consequence of the ARD-415 project that led me into the world of my memories and what was important at different times in my timeline. Jethro Tull was then one of the most important music bands shaping my sensitivity and aesthetics The band's only official "clip"...
Macro photography gives many great opportunities to increase the attractiveness of the story. In my project I want to include some elements of the fascinating tiny forest world. So you'll find several macro shots here. The term macro photo is one of those that evoke a series of associations even for a less experienced photographer. The fantastic world of insects, leaves, flowers and minerals enlarged, life in drops of water - all this and much more are understood by the concept of macro photography. The inspiration to do in this video clip of this type of photo was the film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf-RFPaZeAM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK5PaTTes4Y ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn_YodiJO6k&feature=emb_logo The song comes from the album "Californication" and was promoted by a dark music video inspired by the art of German expressionists. The video was directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris in a black-and-white/monochrome Gothic style similar to Robert Wiene's "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari". The music video for "Otherside," a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has an incredibly striking style and scenery. It is one of the best of their music videos because of the way it contributes fully to the meaning of the song. The meaning of the lyrics is precisely portrayed in the video without...
Work on colours is divided into colour correction and grading. Colour correction, as the name suggests, is used to improve colours in the shot. For example, contrast, saturation or white balance. Colour grading is the second step. It's the "correct" colouring of a picture, that is, giving it a unique picture, for example, giving it an orange colour. Colour grading also includes giving the individual objects in the scene a specific look. For example, illuminating only the hero's face or changing the colour of the car. Colour grading is of course of great importance when creating the film's atmosphere. Colours...
Olafur Eliasson - Danish-Icelandic artist creating sculptures and installations using unusual materials for the sculpture, such as light, water and air temperature. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. “It is not just about decorating the world… but about taking responsibility,” Olafur Eliasson said of his practice in a 2009 TED Talk. Eliasson uses natural elements (like light, water, fog) and makeshift technical devices to transform museum galleries and public areas into immersive environments. Promoting reflection on the spaces surrounding us, for Green River (1998-2001) he poured the bright green (environmentally safe) dye into...
As I mentioned before, Brooke is an amazing self portrait artist from USA. She is also great educator, sharing her knowledge with the community. Facing the global crisis we are in right now, Brooke, and many other artists, decided to give some talks and workshops for free. She is sharing her knowledge with anyone who wants to listen. I find this beautiful, and so altruistic. Here is newest Brookes video on self portraits. https://youtu.be/jyDHuny0-JY She has also created a very insightful article for Sony Alpha on this subject. I will just leave the link to it here https://alphauniverse.com/stories/brooke-shaden-how-to-create-self-portraits/ ...
