The goal of this assignment was to visualise a familiar object using elements of form through the process of documentation. My object was a ring. We had to pick an object that can fit into a 5cm box. I have chosen a ring. Ring that symbolises emotions, feeling, power and so many more things, Through the research I discovered that the ring can be a symbol of power, gratitude, accomplishment, being part of a bigger organisation, or love. Not only fimls, books and magazines tell us that, but also history and art history. But how do I show a ring without showing a ring? I started with photographing the object. just clean aesthetic commercial photographs of a simple ring. But that wanst it. I...

Searching for the simplest form of expression led me to Japanese shadow theatre. Shadow Play is an ancient form of story telling and entertainment that uses flat articulated cut-out characters that are held between a light source and a translucent screen or grid. Cut out doll shapes sometimes have a translucent color or other details. Different effects can be achieved by moving both the doll and the light source. However, for the project, I decided to make simple dolls cut out of paper. However, my dolls will be made of pages from books. It will be a combination of symbolism (feelings and emotions)...

Contre-jour is a photographic technique in which the camera is pointing directly toward a source of light and an equivalent technique of painting. It was also used in paintings prior to its use in photography, where the shadows would fall to the left on the left, to the right on the right and forward in the lower centre. The edges of the subject would show surprising colour effects. Contre-jour produces backlighting of the subject. This effects usually hides details, causes a stronger contrast between light and dark, creates silhouettes and emphasizes lines and shapes....

The increasingly popular technique of lighting (photography), consisting of placing a delicately illuminated element (person, object) on a perfectly black background. The low-key technique is designed to show the drama and the appropriate, mysterious mood in the picture. The photograph shows only a selected, illuminated part of a given object emerging from the darkness (black background). When taking photos in the low-key technique, usually one light source is used placed sideways or behind the photographed object. This is to emphasize the contours of the object by placing the other areas in the shadow. The most important in this way of shooting...

This technique is mainly used for photography of bright objects, e.g. fair skinned people, underwear, white flowers or when intending to emphasize the delicacy of the object, the calmness of the moment of shooting. It is important in this technique to choose the lighting and exposure time so that the background is bright, the object away from it enough that the shadows are invisible to the camera. The lighting should be strong and at the same time most diffused - preferably directed in the opposite direction from the photographed object. The negative should have high optical density and be abundantly...
